MINDEN BIBLE CHURCH FAITH STATEMENT

AS FOLLOWERS OF JESUS, BY FAITH …

WE BELIEVE in One God, Creator of Heaven and Earth. (Gen 1:1; John 1:1-4)

WE BELIEVE that God is revealed as a Trinity in the Persons of God the Father, Jesus Christ The Son and The Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19, Mark 1:10-11, John 16:4-13; Acts 1:4-5)

WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, led a sinless life, performed miracles, taught about the Kingdom of God and provided Salvation to all who believe in Him by His vicarious and atoning death through His blood shed on the cross. (Luke 1:26-35; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21-23; Luke 4:38-41; Luke 5:12-14; Matthew 5:1-12; Matthew 9:10-13; John 20:30-31; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; 1Timothy 3:16)

WE BELIEVE in Jesus’ bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven, His position seated at the right hand of God, and in His personal, visible and bodily return in power and glory. (Luke 24:1-53; Acts 1:4-11)

WE BELIEVE in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for all believers, and His work and ministry to convict of sin, righteousness and judgement; to regenerate, seal, sanctify, fill, empower and to equip all believers with Spiritual Gifts, enabling them to live a Christ-like life. (Joel 2:28-32; Mark 16:15-18; 1 Corinthians 12:1,4-11; John 16:8; Acts 1:5; Acts2:1-12; Acts 3:1-10)

WE BELIEVE The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, constituted in 66 books, to be the inerrant and divinely inspired Word of God and to be the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Tim 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 15:4; Psalm 119:129-130)

WE BELIEVE that all followers of Jesus are called to fulfill the Great Commission commanded and exemplified by Jesus, to Preach the Gospel, to Make Disciples of all Nations, to Baptize and to Teach. (Matt 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, Acts 1:1)

WE BELIEVE in the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost – the saved unto the Resurrection of Eternal Life, and the lost unto the Resurrection of Eternal Punishment. (John 3:16; John 5:24-29; Romans 6:23; Titus 3:5-7)
